The SCM GROUP invests some 6% of its annual sales revenue in research. In addition to studying possibilities around potential new products, a considerable quota of its resources is committed to safety system design and production.

Since 1980, a division of the Group - the CSR Research and Development Consortium - has mobilised operations within the field of safety (component reliability, ergonomics), focussing particular attention on the reduction of machine-related environmental pollution (dust emission, noise, vibration).
